So, many of you know that I have a bit of a project obsession. This could mean anything from rearranging furniture, painting walls (or anything)...and the list goes on.
Most recently, I finally opened the paint can that was sitting in our kitchen for months and painted one of our walls with chalkboard paint. I found a great little shelf from Home Again (a great local shop), got some chalk, and was set!!
One note for anyone else that is planning on using chalkboard paint. On the box, it advises to wait 3-4 days before writing on the wall. They mean it. If you don't wait, the paint will not harden and will leave an indent of what you wrote, that tic tac toe game perhaps. Also, regular chalk instead of sidewalk chalk works much better.
I am very happy with the way it turned out and have to say...it is a hit with the kiddo visitors!!! We had pretty mean game of hangman on there last week. I love to walk by and leave a fun message or admire an art project drawn by a 2 year old.
Here is to having it be OKAY to write on the walls...this could turn into a problem when Nina gets older...
Toodles.
