Ok, so I am feeling like I might be back and refreshed - - ready to tackle all of the necessities of life, like blogging, ya know.
So for those of you who haven’t heard, we have decided to make a move…to the SUBURBS!! We have purchased a home and will be closing on Sept. 28. We are so excited…lots of room, storage, yard, and a GARAGE – a total essential, for those who have not experienced a Chicago winter. With the house, comes lots of projects - - it is move in ready, but there is still some updating and “gusky-fying” that needs to be done. Luckily we are headed into the fall/winter and what I like to call Chicago hibernation season – perfect timing for indoor projects. The first project on my list, aside from the obvious unpacking and organization is….
#1 - Painting the front door – currently the front door is a red, which is not a problem, however it is a bit off of the mark on the red color, a bit too “hot.” I would like to paint the front door a happy yellow color, black, or take it back to the original stain or a deep dark brown….the shutters on the house are a dark navy/black, so that is another option. We shall see! I will reveal the before and after photos, well, once we are actually in the house.
Dear Home Depot,
My name is Josi…would you like to sponsor my painting and other miscellaneous diy projects. I so wish you would, but if not…can I at least have one of those smashing orange aprons the HD associates sport around?
Your soon-to-be bestEST customer,
Josi
So that is that.
On another note, Jeff and I just returned from a lovely trip to Germany – Jeff’s motherland, if you will. I think my favorite part of the trip was shopping in Holland – I love it there, and would not need my arm twisted to move and live there immediately!! I feel right at home with all of the fair, blond haired, blue eyed folks!!
Can you believe Fall is here?
Although I am not looking forward to trekking around in the snow and slush, or the freezing temps that burn…I am excited for Fall. By far, Fall is my favorite time of year. Who doesn’t love some crisp air, the excitement of a back to school sale, or the option of wearing sweaters and cozy fleece jackets. Not overheating with wooly scarves wrapped around your neck, cause no one likes a hot neck, I tell ya. I am searching for the perfect fall candle. Now, I do love the anthropologie candle, however, I am not sure that is fall-ish enough. I would say I would get a pumpkin spice, or an apple spice of some sort, but I want to be sure the house doesn’t smell too much like food…so, any suggestions are welcome…oh, perhaps I will just break down and get the anthro- one. Hmmmm, such hard decisions these days!!
