Travel "yule" log....

Saturday, Dec. 20th

Freezing temps, stayed inside to protect myself from the harsh Arctic winds. Do a trial run to sedate the dog for the upcoming trip. It turns a bit downhill and we end up having a hyper drunk four legged creature on our hands. We recover and go to plan B.

Sunday, Dec. 21st

Still freezing. We move to plan B for the dog and luckily it works. Get packed for trip home.

Monday, Dec. 22nd

Go to work, and make notes everywhere to remember to turn on "out of office" notices, voice mail. I always forget. Take a cab home. Try to get the cab to wait, but he doesn't. Try to call another cab to take Jeff, me, and Karl to the airport. No cabs are coming. I try to get one off of the main road. Did I mention it is still freezing? Finally we get a cab and he chooses the construction route to the airport. Sigh. We get to the airport and it is going well. Get on plane. Um, Karl didn't like it. Jeff tried to pet him through his carrier...it kinda worked. The loud engines saved the day.

Sunday, Dec. 28th

Luckily I got up while it was still dark and gave Karl his "airplane meds." The trip back was not as bad as I thought. I did however have four wrestling matches with Karl in order to get him into his crate. It is a bit harder when it is just you vs the dog. We landed early and made it home like a breeze.

Had a great time, but so glad to be home.
